SportsMEDIA Technology Corporation Helps TNT Latin America Deliver a Winning Broadcast
of the 82nd Academy Awards Pre-show
SportsMEDIA’s Interactive GOTO™ Board Adds Sparkle to Academy Awards Pre-show
DURHAM, N.C.─MARCH 4, 2010 - SportsMEDIA Technology Corporation,
the award-winning provider of graphics, statistics and video enhancement solutions,
today announced that it will partner with Turner Broadcasting’s TNT Latin America
Network (TNTLA) to enhance their live broadcast of the Academy Awards Pre-Show,
airing one hour prior to the 82nd Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday, March 7, 2010.
The show, to be broadcast out of TNTLA’s Atlanta’s-based studio, will provide an
interactive overview of this year’s Academy Award nominees and live coverage of
all of the action on the Red Carpet with TNTLA correspondents. SportsMEDIA’s GOTO
Board will be used by the show’s hosts to view movie trailers, with a simple touch
of the board, of each of the nominees in all of the main categories including Best
Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress. The show will also cover the latest Red Carpet
fashion trends.
This is the first time that TNT Latin America is partnering with SportsMEDIA’s technology
to make our broadcast more engaging for the TV audience,” said Patricia Bellini,
Producer, TNTLA. “With any live event, our announcers need the flexibility to cover
the most dynamic aspects of the event. SportsMEDIA’s GOTO Board gives our talent
the opportunity to engage the audience in a new and unique manner to support their
commentary.”
SportsMEDIA’s GOTO Board is an interactive touch system displayed on a 103 inch
screen. The technology was designed for high performance and ease of use in a variety
of configurations that allows broadcasters to engage their audience in interactive
and compelling ways. SportsMEDIA’s GOTO Board has been used by Turner Sports for
their broadcasts of NBA basketball, NBA TV, the Golf Channel and Black Entertainment
Television (BET) to support an array of programming since the GOTO Board’s launch
in 2008.
“SportsMEDIA has had a longstanding relationship with Turner Broadcasting and its
family of networks,” said Don Tupper, vice president of SportsMEDIA. “We are pleased
to see another division of Turner be able to apply our technology in creative, customized
ways. We have a proven track record of helping broadcasters engage their audience
with new technology and are happy to work with TNT Latin America to deliver a compelling
broadcast to television viewers.”
